Inspired by optimism, sportsmanship and enthusiasm, the delegation of the Schools Division of Canlaon City comprised of 191 athletes, 48 coaches and trainers, and 108 members of the Technical Working Group, arrived at Don Vincente Rama Memorial Elementary School (DVRMES) today, May 2, 2024, for the upcoming Central Visayas Regional Athletics Association (CVIRAA) Meet 2024.
The delegation traveled in six buses and was split into two groups. The first three buses left at 3 AM and reached DVRMES, the assigned billeting quarters of the SDO Canlaon delegation, by 9 AM, while the second group departed at 6 AM and arrived by noon. The mess hall and kitchen committee arrived the day before to prepare ahead of time.
The staff and faculty members of the DVRMES welcomed the delegation while delegates from the city were amazed how clean, organized, and systematic how the school prepared, from the logging in, to the accommodation to the designated billeting rooms.
“The venue is very good. Why? Because the ambiance is good, then ang atong billeting quarter is well-arranged and properly managed”, states Mr. Jerry D. Fajanela, Chairman of the transportation committee. “Organized jud kaayo kag systematic” he added.
Some of the coaches and athletes shared their experience during the trip. Ms. Angelica Fuentes, a Volleyball Girls athlete from Saint Joseph College of Canlaon Incorporated, shared that she enjoyed the trip despite the carsickness and she is looking forward to meeting new friends along the journey. According to Mr. Kenny Pastor, Arnis Coach, ” Nindot lang kaayo among trip, happy lang, and safe lang.”
Over all, the student-athletes and the coaches are ready to showcase the result of their hard work and determination. They are also steadfast and eager to snatch victory and give pride to the Schools Division Office of Canlaon City.
