Anchored on the theme of this year’s Central Visayas Athletics Association (CVIRAA) Meet 2024, “Beyond Sports”, hosted by Cebu City Division, May 2-10, 2024, the Local Government Unit of Canlaon City expressed full support in the participation of the delegates coming from the Schools Division of Canlaon City.
It is a challenge for the division to solely provide everything that is needed.
The help of the LGU is vital in providing the essentials for the athletes such as food, transportation, uniforms, and their other necessities with an approximate 3.8 million budget coming from the LGU of Canlaon.
According to Mrs. Nieves R. Encabo, Local School Board In-charge and Accounting Office Representative, there was already an allotted budget for Sports Development but it was insufficient. The total allocated budget from the Special Education Fund (SEF) was 3,495,000.00. There was also a subsidy from the LGU amounting to 588,000.00. The delegation had a total budget of approximately 4 million. As for the other preparations, Ma’am Encabo added, “The supplies were all ready. The uniforms were already prepared back in Canlaon.
As to the other supplies needed, everything was purchased beforehand and was transported here. Then we booked Ceres special trips for the transportation of the delegation from Canlaon going here.
The SALTA bus and the SALTA jack were also provided by the LGU to aid in the transport operations throughout the meet. Additionally, the SALTA Mobile Water Refilling Station was also sent along so the delegation will have its own water supply.
The strong partnership between the government and the education leaders of the city, the three hundred forty-seven members of SDO Canlaon City delegation are indeed grateful for the support from both sectors in their successful and productive involvement in this physical and mental exercise.
